The fractal vise is a neat piece of engineering. I wasn’t aware of a 3d printable version.

Here is a link to the files, if anyone else is interested.

Old post but just had to say that I had to correct the electrician’s error when my house was finished years ago. Horizontal screws…yes.

All the sockets too.

Of course

When I moved into this house, the temperature from room to room was very inconsistent. As part of the process of solving that problem, I printed my own duct registers. The reduced backpressure helped in some rooms, and it had the added benefit of being significantly quieter.

“OCD an asset” in our job requirement.

We are working on a new machine design. The wiring guy and myself are never on the same page, so I decided to 3d print enough of the frame to sort it out IRL.

Gage pin storage consolidation. (This is too heavy for the toolbox drawer.) 0.062" - 0.750" It takes up less than half the space.

This will be fun to build:

I made a 1/4 scale version of one of our linear machines. The marketing guys think it might have some value, mainly for international distributors who can’t carry around a full size machine. I’m not convinced it isn’t just a toy. It only represents the packaging of the machine, not the functionality. Either way, it was a fun distraction last weekend.

I am a GIF. Click me.

Making a 1/4 scale model is such a cool idea! Even if it feels like a toy, it could really help distributors visualize the product. Plus, it’s great to have a fun distraction now and then, who knows where it might lead?
