Why can't I make a 0.0625 cut on a 0.1875 thick part without it disappearing?

Hi all,

Well the title says it using SolidWorks 2020 SP 4.0 and have a bent Sheetmetal box that I am making a cut along one surface (simulating it being cut to smooth out the welds in the corners and making the mounting surface flat.

wall thickness 0.1875, cut 0.0625

so I will play? what do I have set wrong, I know the cut is not constrained as did just to see and done it a dozen different ways to not working

Turn off the ‘Normal cut’ option.

The “normal cut” will default to its last applied setting. So if its something you want turned on for the majority of your cuts, you’ll need to toggle it back on the next time you need it.
