Thanks extension added

Ok, I got an extension that lets you give “thanks” to people. In a post that you like, there is a thumbs up icon in the upper right, as shown below. (I’m using the Breeze style/theme that’s available from your user control panel.)

We can use this one for a while to see if it works for us or not. I think there are some others we can take a look at, but this is the one that got mentioned the most. So use it and let me know what you think.

but the % number is strange to interpret.

is it possible just to keep the “thumb up” button,
and on the post “thumbed” maybe just a number of people who thumb-up.

not the name, because when there will be tons of users, the thumb-up-list may be too long.

I agree , this would be even better

This extension doesn’t come with options, so it’s either edit code or try something else.

Ok, I changed the extension for thanks to “post love”. Now there’s this little heart in the upper right of each post, and you can see how many loves that post has received. There is also supposed to be a list of who has loved something with a tool tip when you hover over the number, but I can’t verify that yet.

yes, it works (tool tip)
let’s try to use this feature

Just so you know, there is a switch in your user control panel to turn off the love icon if you don’t love it.

I have only this button (0):
It works nice , although i need to refresh page to see it change.
For me better than “thanks” one.

Edit : just noticed that “look of the button” depends from forum skin.

mmmm… something wrong there. If you refresh F5, does it get better?
This is what it should look like, at least with the Breeze style I use:

The new Post Love extension also adds a summary if you go to the top of the Board Index and the top of the forum level right below the index. Plus, I was able to import the “thanks” votes into the “post love” extension. Again, if you want to turn this off, you can do that in your user control panel. I think this one is less obtrusive, and seems like a keeper. Better than a lot of php coding.

Yes , after refreshing page it worked (this was on prosilver style )
I am using Flat style blue now , and it works like a charm ( i see heart , and no need for refreshing page)

This is the view for regular users if you care. the highlighted in yellow one is one I liked, so you can tell the difference between a liked and a not liked post by the heart being filled or empty.

If it’s empty you’ve liked.
If it’s filled you haven’t liked.

Cheers

It seems to be the other way around for me, empty heart if I liked it and full heart if not? Is it a setting I have messed up?

You’re right, I realized while posting that I had it wrong, tried correcting the thing, but I guess I must have started something else and forgot about it.

So I’m not the only one with several 1/2 composed emails buried on my desktop at any given moment, while wondering why they didn’t reply…?

That happens almost on a weekly basis for me lol, too many tasks to take care of.
