Solidworks Weld Icon Supressed in 1 configuration?

Hi all,

Have a weird one, I noticed my as welded configuration of a weldment had the icon unsuppressed and the Machined configuration had it suppressed, I can’t seem to get a unsuppressed option by right clicking on it.

The part is a combination of sheet metal and Boss features so not sure if that has anything todo with it ?

Any ideas on how to unsuppressed this or should I worry about it?

So I can reproduce this if I do the following (in order):

  1. Create a part
  2. Add a boss
  3. Create a second configuration
  4. switch back to original config
  5. Add weldment
  6. switch to 2nd config

Now in the 2nd config, weldment is “suppressed”

The key was creating the config before I made the part a weldment.

I cannot seem to unsuppress it in the 2nd config.

Is that what you did?

Hi,

I believe it got messed up at one point and I had to delete the weldment and then readd it to get separate bodies to add material. it worked for a drawing and filled out a BOM correctly so guess it’s fine just weird behavior.

You can correct this by using a design table. See this KnowledgeBase article.
