SolidWorks gives you a lot of tools for working with mates in assemblies. You can more efficiently manage your assemblies if you understand these tools and options.

Matt, is there any way to post these videos as an .mp4 file? I know I’m not the only one without 'Tube access…
Very useful, matt ! Do you intend to add follow-up videos describing other cool mate tools like:
- grouping mates by status
- grouping fasteners’ mates automatically
- MateXpert
- isolate mated components
- isolate button for components with mate errors
- component preview window
- eliminating the need to use the FM for managing mates
- ALT for hiding faces during mating
- Show/hide Primary Planes during mating (ideally - via context toolbar)
and more…
No, actually that sounds like an excellent project for you!
These videos were some introductory stuff that were available with something I wrote. Mostly on the introductory/overview level.
