A solution has been identified and implemented for all affected users of SOLIDWORKS Design Cloud licenses. Please follow the instructions below and the links to manually implement these necessary changes. This should result in SOLIDWORKS Design launching fully and connecting to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.

If you applied the “DLL Renaming Fix” we previously provided, follow these steps to undo this FIRST, before implementing the hotfix below.

Open File Explorer and navigate to the following folder:

C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes\SOLIDWORKS 3DEXPERIENCE R2026x\win_b64\code\bin\SWXDesktopAddins

In this folder, locate the file: SWK3DCompassAddin.dll.bak

Rename "SWK3DCompassAddin.dll.bak" back to “SWK3DCompassAddin.dll”. You most likely need to delete the “new” DLL before renaming the old one back.

Once you have completed the above steps, follow this link to the SOLIDWORKS Knowledge base, download the .exe files included, and follow the outlined steps to complete the hotfix. This process should only take a few moments to complete.
