I’m fairly convinced that Dassault is trying to kill off desktop SolidWorks at this point. The What’s New is a joke.
Haven’t we all been fairly convinced for about 5 years that that’s the plan?
Also, aren’t they big on adding new features during SPs these days? So I guess their claim will be there will be more added along the way.
Precisely why we stopped paying for maintenance. Useless new features and constantly breaking the features that did work.
Better to just stick with the devil you know rather than keep playing where’s waldo to find which feature doesn’t work now after a new service pack install. ![]()

Correct. Previously, they introduced new functionality at SP0 and only fixes and tweaks in service packs.
Now, they introduce new functionality year-round. I hope this removes the fear of SP0. It should also remove the hard deadline for functionality, so that it can be introduced whenever it’s ready and not next year.
FIFY. Now I fear every SP.
FIFY. Now I fear every SP.
You do you, man. I’m just happy they are fixing bugs and removing roadblocks like these.
