Very nice

I updated from SE 2024 CE, no issues so far with Solid Edge itself.

Keyshot Studio, OTOH, seems to be a bit broken.

Runs as admin just fine, but it won’t start as a regular user, requires license for that.

That’s probably why I can’t start Keyshot Render from SE.

Interestingly enough, the same thing happened when I had to re-install SE 2024, after SE 2025

failed to start.

Probably some registry entries remnant or something.

It’s not a big deal, I don’t use Keyshot anyway

Not sure why KeyShot Studio isn’t working. Definitely should not require Admin rights to run.

It’s a mystery

User environment variable ‘KEYSHOT_EXTERNAL_LICENSE_FOLDER’

is pointing to SE2026/Program, keyshot4.lic is there, ‘set’ in command prompt

lists it, but still no dice.

Same env variable for system/admin works fine, apparently

Keyshot, being CPU renderer(AFAIK), doesn’t really work well on this 2-core machine, so I

removed it.

What version of KS did you install? Had a user yesterday with a Pro license that would not start for him using the latest service pack. Had to revert back to the one I had previously downloaded.

This version had the problem: 2025.3_14.2.2.1 and I reverted back to 2025.1_14.0.0.176 which worked fine.

I checked the KS install from SE 2026 CE prerequisites folder, and it’s

2025.1_14.0.1.2, FWIW.

I am not sure how it works with KS and SE Community Edition, TBH,

with regards to updating Keyshot from version that is installed as part of SE install.
