Pressure cannot be applied to beams

Hi all,

I am trying to do a static simulation on a bracket assembly to pull 1500 lbs.

One of my parts is a C-Channel and when I try to apply pressure to the inside face it gives me a error even if I select the face and a reference geometry. Pressure Cannot Be Applied to Beams

I even tried to add a cut so the face was perpendicular to the pressure direction and still same error.

So what am I doing wrong?

Is your C channel created using weldments or structured systems?

Weldment profile bodies are treated as beams by default (note the beam icon):

You can right click the item and tell Simulation to treat it as a solid.

Hi,

Yes it was created by the weld Structural Profiles.

I will have to try that in another study, didn’t know that was a option.
