I like the ability to view old versions of files from the File History Dialog. However, when I open the File History Dialog from the Solidworks PDM Add-in the “View” button is always grayed out. If I open file history for same file in Search Tool or a vault view the “View” button will be active for some history rows, as expected. Am I doing something wrong or is this how it works?
We have set to always work with latest version but can get old versions from the PDM Add-in.
Thank you. It is an unfortunate inconsistency though.
It’s like pulling teeth to get CAD users to use the SW PDM Add-in instead of doing PDM stuff from a vault view, especially while the file is loaded in SW. Except for viewing old versions, go to vault view for that. But if you want to cache an old version that cannot be done in vault view, must do that from add-in… I’ll quit crying now.
