Interesting to open some old complex models and compare rebuild times. Not sure if its just better hardware or if there are efficiences in rebuilding some features. Some surfacing features but none of the fancy pants surfacing like Boundary or Filled surface as they didn’t exist then. 10x faster doing a full rebuild…a lot of nights just waiting.

I would not be surprised for any intensive, single threaded process to be 10x faster on today’s hardware than it was twenty years ago, given the exact same process.
I usually make some experiment when I see rebuilding over 0.5s for a single feature. Many times there are ways to improve the design method. Rim and ribs were probably bad back then, like patterns got the “geometry pattern” that drastically improved calculation.
