It appears the “student edition” is available to anyone.
Is there a time limit? Maybe “trial” is throwing me off.
It appears to be valid for 1 year. After that, you download 2027 and it will be valid for a year.
I keep trying to find documentation saying this is limited to enrolled students, but cannot find any.

Files on this media are intended for use on supported 64 bit Windows
platforms only.The software will not work on 32 bit machines.
NX Student Edition is a limited installation. Only NX-STUDENT1 licensed applications are included.
Mechatronics Concept Designer Player is also included. A separate shortcut is created during
installation to launch the player.The license file is included in the installation package and will be configured automatically, expiring on 14-July-2026.
It is only good for use with NX Student Edition installations.
Later versions of the NX Student Edition will have a license file which expires at a later date. Students are welcome to download
and use these later releases. In some cases, the user may receive a message that the trial has ended. Students can register under
a different email if this is case. We are working to eliminate this case.If you have an existing installation of NX, this installation will overwrite the value of the environment variable,
SPLM_LICENSE_SERVER, and point to the NX Student Edition license included in the installation.Later releases of the NX Student Edition will coincide with the series release of NX, and will include an updated license file.
This install is version 2506 and can open any NX files in the NX2506 or earlier.
NX files saved with this NX Student Edition can only be opened in NX Student Edition, or NX Academic bundles.
Like all NX2506 versions, files saved can only be opened in NX releases in the NX2506 or later.

Automatic updates are not available with the NX Student Edition. Monthly updates are not supported with
the NX Student Edition, only the initial release in each NX series.Only the full install of NX is available with the NX Student Edition.

To install the products on this media, unzip the installation file into a directory with a short path, for example C:/temp.
Run the setup program contained within that directory. Allow the program to make changes to your computer.
RETURN TO PREVIOUS VERSION SUGGESTION:
Note: If you uninstall NX using Add/Remove programs it will remove all of the NX installation,
not just the files updated with this NX version. This includes Start Menu items and
registry settings.To return to a previous version of NX, it is recommended that you
uninstall this version and then reinstall using the original media for
the previous NX version.
