I was going to buy Camtasia at one time, until they too have now went subscription only at $250 per year.
I picked up this DaVinci editor when I was working on weld maps. I would go out to the shop and just record the assembly and then go back to my desk and go frame by frame at times to try and make sure I was getting each weld. Used it to work on my travel youtube page too. Nice to add music and create introductions.
I do very little video editing, but DaVinci Resolve is what I use.

it is an OSS, so licensewise friendly.
Than you for the Video comparing Hole wizzards. That helped. One point that you mentioned in the SW part. “Skip Instance” in the hole layout sketvh. You can pattern in the sketch and then delete instantces from the pattern. These deleted ones then show up in the skip instance box so you can undo one aswell.

I’m in the habit of not using sketch patterns. Just an old habit. I’m sure this works fine.
