mobile workstation

Hello!

Which laptop would you recommend for solidworks, swooDESIGN, swoodCAM.. And simple visualizations… I’m a carpenter.
Is an RTX A2000 8GB graphics card enough or do I need a better one?
Its for work about 8-10h day

This is what I can get from stock.

1.
HP ZBook Fury 16 G9
i7-12850HX or i7-12800HX
32GB
SSD 1TB
16’'WUXGA IPS 400 nit
RTX A3000 12GB or RTX A20008GB

DELL Precision 7770

i9-12900H
64GB

16’'4K OLED
RTX A3000 12GB

I think I have the best service support for HP in Slovenia (EUROPE).

I heard that the Dell is supposed to have overheating issues??

I don’t know nothing about Asus.

Thanks for help!

We use an HP ZBook and it works wonderfully though I’m not a big fan of working with laptops.

Thanks..

RTX A3000 12GB or RTX A20008GB?

IMO, buying the best video card you can afford is always a good investment for SW and other PC based cad. (That may not be true for cloud based platforms.)

I’do go with the Dell or the HP for the warranty and their screen.

I’d choose the Asus easily!
ASUS ProArt Studiobook Pro 16 OLED W7600Z3

I’m thinking of getting a new laptop. I looked online at each one and I like the HP best.
Problem is the price is over my budget. They have a cheaper model that comes with RTX A1000 4GB.
My question is if the A1000 is okay for solidworks. I have sw2012, 2014 and 2020.

Thanks,

Depends on what you do honestly. If you don’t do any simulation or analysis then most likely yeah.

Those GPU’s develop so fast that the current NVIDA RTX a1000 is probably equivalent to or better than a Quadro 4000 from just a short few years ago.
