Hi All,
For those working with IFC exports—particularly in the IFC 4 format—please note that exporting works correctly in SOLIDWORKS 2023 SP5, including IFC classifications. This functionality appears to be broken in SOLIDWORKS 2024 and 2025 (SP2).
As a workaround, exporting to IFC 2x3 is still possible, but please be aware that classifications are not exported consistently compared to SW2023 SP5.
According to the following support article BR10000393441, a fix for the geometric side of the issue is planned for SW2026. I’ve yet to receive confirmation from our VAR regarding the classification issue.
