so i want to copy or mirror a sketch to the opposite side or a parallel plane, etc, but the only actual useful buttons that i want to use are just greyed out or do not even work, so i cant even do what would seem like the simplest and normal option ever, so how am i even supposed to fix it ???
and the option that is not working is that even when i manage to copy the “chain” sketch from 1 place to another, it just puts it in a completely random or somekind of default position, so why is it even called a Copy or Mirror, plus i cant even move the wrong position in any shape or form at all ??
Are you trying to move it from one side of a plane to another?
If so you can change the sketch plane and if so you need to make the plane visible and change the sketch plane and select the opposite side, depending upon how you have the sketch it may not mirror (if so change the directions of your dimensions).
Another option is to CTRL-C(Copy) the entire sketch with it active and then start a new sketch on the opposite side of the plane and CTRL-V(Paste).
If this isn’t what you are trying to do a screenshot or file would help us better understand the issue.
Edit the original sketch so that you are in the Edit Profile step and then use Mirror command in the Draw section of the Home ribbon. Select your sketch elements then click/draw the line to mirror about (NOTE: command has toggle option to move it to the mirrored position or copy it).
If you want to mirror the entire sketch as a feature, then use the Mirror Copy Part command in the Pattern section of the Home ribbon. Select the original sketch, select a plane to mirror about (NOTE: command has toggle option to remove original).
