How To Add QTY to a Note? Is it Possible?

I want to make a note, that when attached to an item in an assembly drawing, will give this result:

Qty Custom property 1 Custom property 2

For Example:

3X MCMASTER 90128A266

I can easily make a note with the custom properties, but can’t figure out how to add a QTY to the note.

I was able to do this with a Balloon, but has undesirable traits.

Thank you for any help you may give me,

Dan B.

I am not sure that you can do it with a note (I cannot figure out quantity in a note without linking the note to a balloon). But you can do it with stacked balloons (might need to format them)

OK, you can also link a note to a table cell.

Just select the “Link Table Cell” button and select the table cells that you want linked to it.

Thank you Dan, I had managed to do that, BUT, the note length can’t be wrapped/shortened. That was the “undesirable trait” I was speaking about.

I want to make a second note with the full description of the fastener. Without the ability to “wrap” the text, I won’t be able to fit the notes on the dwg…

Well, you can wrap the note, you just cannot wrap it inside the context of the link.

So you can wrap between 3 links, but if 1 link is really long, then it will take up 1 line and cannot be wrapped. Which is probably what you are referring to.

Hence, why I wanted to use the annotation route… (that has the ability to wrap the long description)

We can always hope SW 2026 makes a fix for this…
