Flow Sim Initial Surface

I am playing around with Flow Simulation for the first time, trying to make a surface wave in a wave tank, with alcohol over water. I can make the subdomains, but the boundary is always a plane perpendicular to a main coordinate system direct. I’ve tried to start with a tilted surface, first by using an angled face for a reference, then by creating a titled coordinate system, but I still get a level, not tilted, surface to start. If I pick another axis, it will create a vertical surface with dramatic results, but I am after something more subtle.

The help hints at creating initial liquid subdomains using Solidworks bodies, which would be ideal, but I can’t find how to do it.

Any hints for me?

Thanks

Dwight

Well, I find I can run a short sim with gravity tilted, which gets the surface tilted, then continue the sim with gravity normal, which lets the wave start. Seems goofy but it is all found to do. Now I have to figure all the iteration and timing stuff.
