FEATURE MANAGER DESIGN TREE FILTER - MIRRORED ASSEMBLIES

I am using the filter at the top of the design tree searching for parts in my assembly. When the filter is applied, the design tree only shows one part, but the assembly has two parts, which you can see on the screen. The part which is listed in the design tree is selectable. The one that is visible, but not in the tree is not selectable. The part which is not selectable is in an assembly which is mirrored inside a higher level assembly.

Is this expected behavior? Is it controlled by a setting somewhere? Or is this just another of those things SW doesn’t do very well (which includes LOTS of problems with mirrors.)

Here’s an example of only one being in the design tree, but both are selectable.

And here’s a case where there is NOTHING in the design tree, but two items on the screen, both selectable.

Yea, that search feature is one of the MANY poorly implemented features. I’ve had instances where if I clicked the little “x” in the upper right hand corner of the tree to clear the search SW just disappeared, no warning - one second it was there the next it wasn’t. Instances like that REALLY ingrain the habit of hitting CTRL + S OFTEN. It seemed to mainly do it in large assys.
