So I posted something and got the following. Turns out that the offending code was “percentage sign”. No idea what but having the % in quotes is bad according to word press.
What URL prompted that response? Percent sign is common in a lot of sites, but depending on how it’s used… I’m not sure all of the rules about how percent signs are supposed to be used. Why were you using a percent sign?
I was posting this post. https://www.cadforum.net/viewtopic.php?p=14257#p14257
It’s odd because I did exactly the same thing earlier and no re-direct. I took a wild guess that it must be the percent, pulled them out as it looks in that post now and it posted no issue.
I don’t know %sign test “%”
test “%”
Works fine. It might be an unrelated phenomenon, like UFOs…
Maybe that’s one of those “off topic” settings.
That error can show up when someone tries to navigate to a part of the site that doesn’t exist, or when trying to sign in as a non-existent user name - usually it’s people fishing for site vulnerabilities. You might have some problems logging in in the future… If that program got you, just remember my email to contact me directly, or let me know the IP address you operate from. The program might try to block you.
…well, I looked on the list, and no one has been blocked today… yesterday, however, is a different story…
Occam’s Razor…
..yep.
I just got the same think trying to preview my post of a question about PDM notifications. I’m assuming it was because I had copy pasted the html from “C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Corp\SOLIDWORKS PDM\NotificationMsgTemplate_GB.csv” file for reference. I was going to just go back and remove the code section but I could not find anything on that page to take me back so I hit browser’s back button. My message was gone. Tried going forward and reloading no luck.
Is there a way to back out of that block notification page and get back to the post? For future use.
Occam’s Razor suggests Matt just doesn’t want me posting questions anymore.
I got something similar earlier this week and figured it had to do with my Ad-block. Refreshed and it was fine without issues.

me too after trying to post in the Z-UP thread. But now I’m told “The requested topic does not exist.”.
I’m kind of losing track of the conversation here. If you’re getting the “unsafe operation” thing, you might be trying to access the site via http rather than https. I know there are a bunch of different published links out there some may omit the “s”. You should get redirected to the https version. If your browser or local network has a “no redirect” setting, then either use the https link (or manually add the s), or it could be one of the other things suggested, such as wrong url, ad blocker (although I use ad blocker, and it seems to have no effect on this site, even though it has “ads”).
Some threads did get reshuffled recently when we had a thread go bonkers and I split it into 3. I deleted a test thread I had a few weeks ago. I’m not in the habit of deleting or removing stuff unless there has been some conversation about it. That message is definitely from software on my site, so it’s not some external thing.
I’ve gotten the message I posted about 5 times since this morning, all while trying to send a post in. Got the error, tried sending the reply again and the second time it went through. Got that error a few times like I said.
I got this today too. Hitting “Submit” a 2nd time and it was fine.

I think, I figured out why we sometimes get this. I think it’s if we click twice on Submit.
I can tell you this is not from my end. Just for fun I cleared out all the accumulated IP bans from all areas of my site yesterday, including manual and security software automated bans.
Spamhaus is a central tracker of “bad actors”, and my site does check with them to keep out known bad guys, but I don’t collect those addresses.
If you are using VPN or some fancy dns, you might get caught up in a security warning.
I use Adblock on Chrome, that’s about the only ‘security’ I have, besides Windows’s integrated antivirus and firewall.
