cutting thread made from trim

hello,

i was curious if it was possible to do this: i have male and female thread. i would like to thread on the male and female only 0 to 90 and 180 to 270 so that its possible to all treads lock in 1/4 turn.

thread is generated using swep cut/boss on a revolved profile but trying to cut the thread, i also end up trimming the revolved profile. is there a trick to apply the split feature to only the tread?

Don’t merge the swept thread.

sorry for the late reply, i guess i didnt have reply notification turned on.. and how do prevent the thread from bein merged, it happens automaticaly i think, maybe i forgot to mention its a swept thread!
