Convert .DWG to .PDF

Does anyone have a macro or method to convert a large number of .DWG files to .PDF file while maintaining the same file name?
It would be nice to be able to change the default drawing template used during the conversion as well.

Not sure if you can use a website or not (maybe not with security concerns), but there is this:

https://cloudconvert.com/dwg-to-pdf

I use cloudconvert a lot with converting MP4’s to GIF files. So I know that part of it works well.

Dan,
This is decent but limits the amount you can convert for free. Might be worth the monthly bill but am seeing what else could be out there.

Just to confirm… You’re asking about AutoDesk files, right? In a SolidWorks forum? Not saying we don’t have ideas here, but you might have better luck in an AutoDesk one.

Josh,
Yes..I figured alot of us users are stuck using this file type (usually at the customer’s request.)
The main reason to change them to PDF format is so you can preview/view them quickly instead of opening one-by-one. Quite annoying to work with.

We have a lot of legacy ACAD data & .dwgs and use Autodesk’s DWG TrueView to plot pdfs as necessary.
It’s a free download.

I don’t have a lot of experience with their “batch plot” function but it will let you grab multiple files from a folder. There’s a section to build a list of files, too. Maybe that can be generated with a text file.

Hope this helps,
Ray

Thank you for the suggestion, however after downloading and trying all settings, the PDF files this produces are not usable. They are all converted to a small scrunched up version of the previous DWG with lots of the lines missing in some cases.

Josh,
Do you know of a good forum site I should post this question/request in?
