matt Lately getting a strange issue browsing this forum on Android Chrome. Scrolling down the page on mobile Chrome hides the URL bar after you scroll down so far, when I stop scrolling, it refreshes the page, which is just an annoyance as it comes back to where I was eventually after a second or two. If I don’t scroll down far enough to cause it to hide the URL bar then no refresh occurs.
Second related problem is more than an annoyance. When I try to create a new post, or new reply, then click in the text box, the onscreen keyboard pops up, then the page refreshes and it disappears. No way to post.
I’ve cleared my phone’s cache and data for Chrome, rebooted 3 times, etc. Could it be related to the new “SolidInsight” ad I’m seeing in the header? That’s the only thing I notice that’s different. No other mobile sites have the issue.
Same for me on Android phone using whatever the default browser is on Samsung. Couldn’t log in. Page would reload every time I selected the username field to get the keyboard to enter it. I viewed a few threads as guest, but the page would frequently reload and take back to the top.
Just as a note, you can post from your phone if you use the full editor option. I’m posting this from my android phone now. I’m not sure if this has anything to do with the recent update or if it was always this way.
Same here, but even worse. On Android 12 using latest chrome and same with Firefox changing to desktop view on Android makes no difference. The page seems to be refreshing every few seconds jumping up and down. It makes using it quite difficult, because the refresh and jumping elsewhere causes one to miss and click wrong threads for example.
It usually goes like this. I’m scrolling down looking at threads, oh there is an interesting one, let me click on it. Before my finger lands on the screen the page refreshes and the click lands on the top banner or another thread. Even if I manage not to click, now the page has scrolled somewhere else and I can’t find the thread I was interested in unless I go through half of the list again (making sure to click it before next refresh).
Personally I very rarely browse forums on a PC. The PC is primarily a work tool for me these days. The phone is where 99% of my browsing activity happens.
