Bit Locker Recovery Key

Anyone know a way/software to decrypt a SSD locked with lost Bit Locker Recovery Key?

I’m sure you’ve already used google, but just in case

The article speaks of a program called EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard that could also do what you need, though I’ve never tried it myself.

I’ve used EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard 14 years ago, before BitLocker existed. Good software, if rarely used. We had a NAS cease to function which had all our project files on it, and recovered nearly all of it. I am unfamiliar with it since, but it should have instructions if it is capable of decrypting BL.

Thanks Tom for sharing your experience. Already tried it and it doesn’t work with BL.

Already went thru those steps and no result. Thank you for sharing though.

Can you hook the drive up or better, boot the drive on the original hardware it was created?

Thanks Paul for commenting, the drive is still inside the original hardware.

Hello Deepak, so, none of the online workarounds are working?

Hopefully Paul or someone else can find a solution for someone who provides so many solutions to the community.

If bitlocker is effective at doing what it claims to do, there won’t be an easy way to defeat the security without the key.

Indeed, but searching the internet seems to reveal that the program had a number of issues also, so perhaps someone developped something in regards to that.

There is certainly no shortage of security products that fail spectacularly at their job.

Thanks Paul but most workarounds/software are asking for the recovery key which I do not have :unamused:

I’m trying other methods and will post the update once there is a progress.

You need the key or password to decrypt.
I tried Bitlocker, its so slow on USB drives.
I end up bought a WD passport with hardware encryption.
WD has SSD with hardware encryption also.

And good luck
