I’ve seen this issue a couple of times since updating from SW2017 to SW2025. Sometimes components in an assembly are appearing below the mates:
I can drag the components above the mates, and once I’ve done that they can’t be moved back.
Is this a bug or a feature/setting I’ve missed?
I have not seen that, or heard of it as far as I can remember. Is it happening in multiple Assemblies?
I opened an existing assembly yesterday that was like that. And a user working on an assembly one level up from that one reported it happening when he was adding some new components via Copy with Mates.
How old is that assembly? It reminds me of the old way mates were handled with multiple mategroups.
That explains why I had never seen it. That was ten years before I had ever heard of Solidworks.
