A transplant from Matt's forum

Hi, everyone. Very glad to get here, finally. I had to get an exception from our IT department to access the site, but now all is good. My thanks to Jim Sculley for doing all the hard work for us.

@Dwight:

Can you tell me why your IT department required an exception? I want to do whatever I can on my end to avoid people having to jump through hoops just to connect. And I don’t want future changes on my end to cause your exception to not work anymore.

If it was because the CADmunity domain name is somewhat new, a lot of corporate AV/Firewall software will block those domains for a while to make sure they aren’t malicious. We’re just past 30 days old, so hopefully the domain blocks will be less frequent.

Most likely just the 30 day new domain rule.

The blocking stopped yesterday.

My request went through at least three people and returned via a no-reply email. It’s all opaque. Sorry I can’t supply more information.

Where have you been hiding?

Matt got tired of fighting spammers. I don’t blame him.

Between hackers actually getting into the back end, my host not keeping them out and the constant spammers and to be honest the cost of keeping it all going, I just ditched it in a screaming fit of rage one day. It’s the first time since 1995 that I haven’t had some sort of web presence. It’s a relief in some ways and a bit like missing an old friend in another. I’m really glad that @JimSculley was able and willing to pick it up. It’s a worthy cause.

@matt had had enough, I think he was last seen running barefoot in the Appalachian hollers murmuring something about “Sync Tech” to a bunch of squirrels.

Getting work done. :wink:

We started up a whole new product line and I simply got busy with designing, management, etc.
