SW 2022 SP2 - First Thoughts

Problem solved in SP2.0.

Alin,

As you probably know, I was one of the people yelling loudest about the initial implementation of this “enhancement”, but since they modified the behavior to build in the delay I’ve left that option turned on so I can use it occasionally. Before the delay I hated it with a purple passion.

Glenn

Wasn’t purple passion deadly, Glenn?

You have to turn off Instant3D

Thank you, Tera! This helped me a lot! ><

The following SPR (SolidWorks Performance Report) status has changed to Implemented.

SR# (Service Request): 1-24384108056
SPR#: 1230978
Description: Quick Mate lock rotation/flip alignment option disappears before making any selection.
Status: Implemented.
Version: 2023 PR1

Lol, what will break in 2023 because they’ve ‘fixed’ this.

Does it mean we have to upgrade to 2023 to be able to use something that was OK and they broke it?
Why not a hot fix?
Sometimes I think Solidworks is adding these kind of problems intentionally. They’re just trying to make us pay for the next version.

Tera Their SPR system only shows one version, so it could be fixed in 2022 sp4 or 5.

Some changes may require a change to the file structure meaning a backwards compatibility issue but this one appears to just be a UI change. Guess we’ll see in a month or two.

I hope so. Because I really can not make my boss sign for upgrading to 2023 after the mess they’ve caused in 2022.

Ask your VAR for an escalation to get a quick fix created for the company you work for. It might be a hassle, but once you get it, if it works as you require it to, then it’ll be easier to make your boss accept upgrading to 2023 to avoid staying with the mess 2022 seems to be.

I couldn’t get a license for PDM and learned I had to go to the license manager and re-activate. Not a big deal, once I figured out that was the problem.
