Does your company block sites?

  • Total control: Our company is a dictatorship and only allows sites on the whitelist.
  • No fun and games: All social media, game, and video sites blocked along with a few other choice selections.
  • Selective: No gaming sites or celebrity polls, unless they are Facebook.
  • Blocked sites: This is America dammit, free to go where I please.
  • Other: Please elaborate in the comments below.

Seen a few comments here about sites like Youtube being blocked for some and I was surprised this was still going on.

Oh, i can relate to that…
Once i was trying to join a SOLIDWORKS event hosted by our VAR…
But they hosted it on YouTube and i cant even access it… <()>

Our company did block Youtube and social media but lifted the block several years ago when they wanted employees to comment on content. Of course there are rules to the comments.

I don’t know what category they used to block.
Maybe they used firewall default.
Solidworks crash report was blocked.
Samsung phone Galaxy App update was blocked.
VPN blocked.
Some mobile game blocked.
Some University website blocked.
