Part of assembly has reference, where to delete this

I have an assembly (set up for routing) the complete assembly does not have any reference. However one of the parts inside the assembly has a spool reference. Due to this reference the part does not show up in the BOM :frowning: .

I searched and have not found any way to remove this reference. Any one has any idea how to remove/reset the spool reference?

Do you see this component listed under a folder in the feature tree? OR can you share the screen shot of the feature tree?

Sure, here’s the screen shot.

the reference is broken.
I would try to open the part, list external references in the right click option and break them all. Then look for the sketch or feature that is referenced to the other part and remove any of those and redefine the part.

I checked and I do not see any external references in the part.

Has the component been marked to “Exclude from bill of materials”?

I did check that, it is not marked to exclude from BOM.

The >x mark in the feature tree after the part name indicates a broken reference. But this should be related to the spool reference (since this is mainly for routing).

Make a copy of this part, and then add that new part to a new spool. Then check if spool reference is changed. And then edit the spool, remove that new part, and add any dummy part to that spool. Check if the new copied part has the spool reference cleared.

Well something cleared the X. However the Spool reference is still there and is not clearing or changing in any way. All other parts in this assembly do change the spool reference.

Any possibilities if you can share that file to check? If you can not share here, send it to you VAR to investigate.

I can share the file, I have limited it to one configuration. Hopefully I did it correctly with the pack and go as I never use that

Add this part to a new sub assembly (right click on it, and select form new sub assembly). This will delete a few mates (which you can note down and add again). Then dissolve the newly made sub assembly. The issue would be resolved.
