LOL

So I managed to lock myself out of the SolidWorks account that I use to read the forum stuff.

I use SolidWorks at work inside a protected enclave. Don’t have the slightest idea who the VAR is, but I could probably figure it out if I tried.

Shouldn’t have to, right? Just reset the account.

Yeah, no, I’ve now been through three different entities and they all want to know the serial number of my seat of SolidWorks, which I’m definitely not going to even look for.

Geeze

Hopefully this helps

One happy connected community.

Unless you forget your password. Good thing there’s a gold 'ol fashioned forum for a back-channel support option.

The irony is thick here. That’s hilarious.

I sent him a message. Thank you

FYI: From Help…About SOLIDWORKS:

So I delete my account since I don’t work for that company and not entitle to the serial number anymore …

So you forgot your password. You won’t ask your internal support for help. You can’t be bothered to find out who your VAR is, or even to look up your SN, but somehow DSS is the bad guy here?

Mr. Hall did respond, as well as the second tech support group.

The second tech support group “escalated” my request to the “Cloud Team” who had referred me to the second tech support group in the first place.

Circle jerk?

I cannot discuss any of the details of our system, or it’s installation with anyone outside of the installation.

I registered a user account outside of any SolidWorks commercial relationship to be able to look stuff up online. You don’t need to be a customer to register for an account.

I managed to lock myself out of the account. It probably has something to do with the weird way the IT group has set up this internet access.

Thanks for all the empathy

Users transferred from old forum may not have VAR or Serial number

Yea, I know where it is.

I cannot share this information.

The user account isn’t tied to it anyway…

H’mmmm,

Progress?

I got an e-mail from support.dsxeco@3ds.com saying a ticket had been opened to unlock the account.

fingers crossed.

The ticket might have to go around the world and back before you get an answer.

..yep, you need a ticket… btw, who are you really? ;;

Just some guy attempting to be productive…

Jeebus

This has been an exercise in futility.

Allegedly the account has been unlocked. Unfortunately at this juncture, I have no idea what the password is. Don’t know which of my attempts it accepted.

Trying to reset my password results in no response.

I’ll just open a new account using a different e-mail address.
