Since upgrading to SW2022, shaded cosmetic threads color is too dark.
Is there anywhere I can change the black color to gray?
thank you.

You can change the color of the dotted line at the top of the hole in 3D CAD, and you change the color of the dotted lines that are formed from threads in a drawing…
But I don’t think that you can change the color of the shaded cosmetic thread in a hole.
I played with every color setting I know about, and nothing on it changed.
Thanks for your help and your effort to solve this.
Be careful with the following and make sure you have a backup of the modified file:
Edit the file “\data\Images\shaders\diffuse\thread.png”. The brighter you’ll make the gray area the brighter your cosmetic threads will be. You don’t even have to restart SOLIDWORKS in order to see the effect. Just close and reopen the part.
CT_01_before.png
CT_02_after.png
This is not really officially supported and I cannot promise that it will work in future releases. Also with the next update installation you’ll probably have to paste your modified version of the file again into that directory.
Thanks for the info.
I asked a colleague of mine to work on the png with photoshop.
I’m waiting to see what he has to offer.
Meanwhile can anybody share thread.png from a Solidworks prior to 2022?
I really appreciate it.
SolidWorks 2019 files.
Million thanks.
I truly appreciate the answers! I wanted to change the shaded cosmetic thread’s color too!
